The Macarthur Way
Enter to Learn

Macarthur Anglican School offers a unique educational experience to every girl and boy. The School environment is rich with opportunities that not only provide quality academic instruction, but also help young people broaden their horizons and enrich their understanding of themselves and others. Students are challenged, encouraged and supported by staff members who are committed to assisting each individual to learn and grow. Building a passion for learning in our students and a desire to continue their learning everyday of their lives are important elements of the Macarthur Way.
A Rich Learning Environment
Macarthur delivers a traditional curriculum in a dynamic learning environment. The curriculum delivered in classes from Kindergarten to Year 12 is developed by the
NSW Board of Studies. Lessons are delivered in modern classrooms and specialist facilities and their learning is supported by extensive access to technological resources both in the classroom and in specially designated areas of the School.
Macarthur students have an outstanding record of academic achievement. Each year they achieve results that rank them well beyond the NSW pattern of achievement in such statewide testing programmes such as as the

Year 7 English Literacy and Language Assessment (ELLA) and Secondary Numeracy Assessment Programme (SNAP) and in the Basic Skills Testing administered to Year 3 and Year 5. From 2008 the Year 3, Year 5, Year 7 and Year 9 students of Macarthur will be involved in the
NAPLAN testing programme.
The Year 12 students gain excellent results in the Higher School Certificate every year, with over 75% gaining entry into universities. These students pursue studies in such fields as Law, Medical Science, Psychology, Education, International Studies, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Architecture Technology and Nursing.
A Christian School
Macarthur is a Christian school, where Christian values and attitudes underpin all aspects of school life.

Students are presented with the Christian gospel through devotions in Infants School and Junior School classrooms, Tutor Groups in the Middle School and Senior School, Chapel Services and Biblical Studies lessons. Christian values are modelled by staff in their dealings with students. No matter what their age, the girls and boys have the opportunity to apply all they have learned about
service both in the school community and beyond it.
