Achievements or our Student Leaders

Each year students of Macarthur demonstrate their leadership skills through their efforts by supporting others through programmes such as Peer Support and in roles such as Prefect, House Captains and Middle School Prefects and through their efforts in bands, orchestra choirs and in Community Service.

Some of the outstanding achievements of 2008 were:

In acknowledgement of his contribution to the Global Young Leaders Conference in 2007, School Captain 2008, Joshua Fleming (Year 12) was invited to attend the University Presidential Inaugural Conference in the USA in January 2009.  As part of this conference he met congressmen and women and other leading decision makers and was on the National Mall as the President of the USA was sworn in. Joshua was also a leader on the sporting field, captaining the Open boys  CIS Hockey team.

In January 2008, twenty-two students completed their Duke of Edinburgh Gold Adventure in New Zealand.  One of these students has already completed all components of this Award and others will finish shortly.
