Moving to Qustodio from Family Zone

Moving from Family Zone to the new Qustodio App

Macarthur has moved to the new Qustodio Parent app due to the Family Zone App no longer being supported after June 30 2023.

Outlined below are two scenarios that address the implications for school managed devices 7-12 (iPads/Laptops) and any personal devices your children may have.

Managing the transition to Qustodio for School managed devices 7-12

1. School devices are set up with web filtering restrictions regardless of whether they are at school or at home. These settings are in place to ensure basic safe filtering rules are always in place.

2. Other settings that parents may wish to set up such as time restrictions, app restriction etc will need to be set up by parents using the inbuilt IOS restriction features. Details on how to do this can be found in the parent help section of our school website. https://www.macarthur.nsw.edu.au/parents/ipads/setting-up-ipad-restrictions

3. Parents are able to get timeline reports of your child’s online activity including word and video searches while at home. These tools will provide you with insights and visibility to help you better understand how your child is engaging with their school device after school hours.

4. Parents are also able to utilise a ‘pause internet’ feature in the new app. This means parents are able to stop internet access on their child’s school device at any moment.

5. In order for parents  to be able to ‘pause internet’ and get weekly reports, parents will need to create an account,  log in and ‘claim’ their child. Details on how to do this can be found at this link. How to create a Qustodio Account & Claim my child's learning device

6. Regarding your initial sign up process - one parent/guardian must create the initial account, and then additional parents/guardians can be invited and given access to your Qustodio account in order to share visibility over your child’s learning device activity outside of school hours.

7. Qustodio Account creation link (claim your student) You will be prompted to enter an email address. This is the email address that you have given to the school as your contact email.
